“Traveling – it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.” – Ibn Battuta

That’s what I will be sharing in this space––the discovery, the experience, and the story that comes from making the journey.

To kick things off, I share with you my happy place –– Mendocino, California, a coastal town about 3 1/2 hours north of San Francisco and its environs.

I hike here, I dream here, I get lost here, I laugh here, I hide here, I zen here.

The photographer who best captures the absolute beauty of Mendocino County is Jon Klein. I own countless pieces of his work. Here’s the link to his site. You’ll understand when you click on it:

In future posts, I’ll talk about where to stay, the best restaurants in and around Mendocino, the best picnic spot with an ocean view (and where to buy your provisions), hikes on the headlands, music festivals and how to conquer the countless hairpin turns necessary to get there once you leave the 101 Freeway.
